Today as I sat in the airport waiting to travel I looked around and asked God this question, "Do you have an assignment for me today?". I couldn't help but think that there has to be someone around me that needs to hear about God today. So rather than sit in my own little world with my headphones on, which would be so easy to do, I want to ask God to use me...allow me to see this as an opportunity. But to be honest, we don't have to be sitting in an airport to ask God that question. It's a question that we really should be asking Him every single day of our life, every time we step outside of our home. There are hurting and lost people everywhere we go....but do we look for them?
You have a story...I have a story....and someone out there needs to hear it. If God found you somewhere, and showed up in your life, then you have the answer that someone is looking for. Even if your story isn't one of despair that God brought you out of, you still have a story about how God sent His son in love to rescue each one of us from the world we live in. So share that story.....
Mark 16:15 tells us to "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation...". It was God's plan from the very beginning for His word to spread through the lives of those who believe in and worship Him. It's just one of the ways we honor him. I love how 1 Peter 3:15 (NLT) says it, it says "Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it". The verses before that talk about not worrying about suffering for God, instead, let people see Him in your life and tell people about Him. What an amazing way to face life. And ONLY He can give you the strength to face life like this.
So today...tomorrow...and all the days to follow, if God has granted you another day on this earth, then ask Him what He wants you to do with it. Who does He need you to share your story, or His story, with? Be on guard, and always be ready to put into words what He can do for someone who needs Him to interrupt their life, and rescue them from whatever this world is trying to burden them with.
God, thank You for trusting us to spread your word. Help us to seek to do this more for you, and help others with the love and hope that you offer to each of us. Allow our lives to speak louder than our words, but when the time is right, please give us the right words to help someone who is in need of You. In Jesus name, Amen
