I know that Psalms 23:1-6 is a pretty famous passage from the bible, but I hope as you read it now you understand that these are words of healing. This is a promise that not only can God restore you, but He can make you better than before. And He can sustain that, meaning, the longer you walk with Him the more His strength and His presence will carry you through ANYTHING you face.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever."
If you have faced the things I mentioned, and they have left a feeling of emptiness causing you to build walls to protect yourself, then please let today be the day that you give God room to be the healer of your heart and soul. He wants nothing more than to restore you, set you free from the bondage of pain and sin, and make you to better than before. But He needs a trusting and willing heart in order to do these things for you. He will not push His way in, but He also will not walk away from you and leave you where you are. He will keep placing things in your path to bring you out of where you are.....however, it's up to you to reach out and take His hand, or choose to walk this out in your own strength. But please remember, the last thing the enemy wants you to do is trust in the Lord and believe. He knows that when you do that, he has lost his grip on you and God's goodness will take over from there.
John 16:33 says it best..."These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus is not the maker of the pain you may be experiencing, but please remember He understands our pain. He came as a man and experienced it all. He was betrayed, rejected and abandoned...He experienced emotional and physical pain on levels we can't even comprehend, and yet He walked out the purpose that God gave Him. All to absorb the pain and sin of the world for us, so that we could receive His forgiveness, His love, His healing, His strength and His power...allowing us to overcome this world and look to something bigger than it....to keep our eyes on Him!
God, thank You for Your overwhelming love. The power that Your love has to heal is truly amazing. Please help those who need to experience Your love and Your healing humble themselves and reach back out to You. And help those of us who have experienced it never stop talking about it....for we need to understand that we hold the answer that so many are searching for....You! Thank you God! In Jesus name, Amen
