Today I felt the need to remind someone of who they are in Christ. Self worth can be a great thing when we know where our worth comes from. However, it can also be something that the enemy can torment you with if you do not realize what God sees in you....and how God sees you.
Tons of people wake up each morning and have no idea their value. Maybe it's because someone in your life has made it their personal goal to tear you down every chance they get, maybe it is because of a traumatic event that happened to you that shaped your self confidence or maybe it is because you have been measuring yourself against the wrong things or people for years. But I am writing today to tell you that you have immense value in the eyes of Jesus Christ. Psalms 139:14 says "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works....". One version says "marvelous are your works". And those works that David is taking about is himself....is you...is me. David knew we are the work of God and in His eyes...in His likeness...we are wonderfully made. And I believe God takes great pride in each and every one of His creations! I don't care who or what in your life is making you think you may be "less than" or not good enough...it is a lie. That is NOT how God sees you and that is NOT how God wants you to see yourself. That is the lies that the enemy wants you to buy into. When we do not realize our value in and through Jesus Christ, we really are of no threat to the enemy. We are powerless and we are not dangerous to him. BUT, when we know who we are in Christ, who God made us to be and we start to figure out what God created us to do...then the enemy becomes very scared of us and the message we carry. This is the reason I am so deeply saddened when someone gives themselves over to the spirit of suicide. When someone gives themselves over to suicide it means that satan was able to convince them that they did have enough value worth living for. It is the enemy's way to get them to say in the most powerful way possible "I CAN'T see what God sees in me".
If you are struggling with seeing yourself the way God sees you please remember this...God cared so much for you....that even if you were the ONLY person to ever step foot onto this earth, He still would have sent Jesus to die for YOU to make a way for you to spend eternity with Him. Let that sink in for a moment....That is a love like no other and that love is directly toward you.
You are made in the image of God, you are worth Jesus suffering and dying for and you are a fearfully and wonderfully made person that God would love to use to advance His kingdom. He created you with a plan, a purpose, an identity, and value!
God, please help someone who is struggling realize their value today. Don't let the enemy convince them that they are "less than". Help them to see that you created them with beautiful plans in mind for their life and they are powerful when they see their worth in Jesus Christ. I pray today that they will look into their mirror and supernaturally see themselves with Your eyes God. Knowing for possibly the first time ever how loved they are, how valuable they are and wanted they are to You. Wanted enough to die for.... In Jesus name, Amen.
