He really does have a plan for you....

Over the past 9 months of my life I have gone through one of the toughest trials of my life. During that time I have found myself fasting and praying for breakthrough on many different levels. I have also learned during this time that breakthrough doesn't always look like what we think it should or will. God has breakthrough for each and every person praying for it, and most of the time it is our lack of faith or trust in God that is preventing us from experiencing the breakthrough He has for us. NEVER is it that God just doesn't want us to experience a breakthrough, a deeper of relationship with Him and a new level of trust in Him.
What I have learned (from my own experiences and praying with and for others) is that a lot of the time we put God in a box. What I mean by that is that we "think" we know exactly what our breakthrough, or the answer to our trial, is supposed to look like. So when the answer doesn't come the way we expected it, we walk away disappointed or we pray forever waiting for the answer we "want" instead of seeing the one God has for us. I've used Proverbs 3:5 in other posts, but again it just fits in this one as well. It says to "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding". This is what we do when we pray to God and tell Him the answer we are looking for. We are trusting in our own (very small) understanding of our situation and not trusting that He truly knows what is best for us and our lives. Putting God in a box limits our trust in Him. He has a plan, a will and an answer to our situation. However, we have to be willing to accept His ways if we are going to cry out and ask for His help. I have learned that His answers don't always look like what I had in mind, not because He doesn't love me, but because He DOES! He loves me enough to not give me something just because I am asking for it. I have learned to pray for His will to be done in my life....and then give Him the freedom to do His will. This life we live, the people in our life and even situations we get ourselves into, will cause pain and trouble in our life. But when I ask God to have His will, He can and He will make beauty out of ashes. He is the only one that can take bad and turn it to good, take a mess and make a message out of it, use your test and turn it into your testimony. He can do this... when we give Him the freedom to do so. If you know you have been asking God to do things your way, then let go of that and let Him know you want what He wants for your life.
God, I'm sorry for all the times I have prayed prayers that limited your ability to move in my life. I'm sorry for not fully trusting Your will over my wants and desires. Help me Lord to let go and let You have control. I trust You, I believe in You and I thank You for having a plan for my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
